How to House Train Yorkies- 4 Simple Tips That Work

House training Yorkies can be a hassle. Especially when they won’t listen to what you tell them to do. So, what I’m going to do is share with you some tips on how to house train Yorkies. That way, your dog will start following your commands.

The tips on house training Yorkies are:

1. Minimize Noise and Distraction. While training your Yorkie, make sure there aren’t too many people or animals around. This will distract your dog and will be hard for the to focus. It will make it easier for you to house train your dog.

2. Reward With Treats. Whenever your Yorkie does something good, you should reward them with a treat. You don’t have to give a treat every time. This type of rewarding helps reinforce positive behavior, which is key to training to your dog.

3. Praise Good Behavior. Whenever you don’t give your Yorkie a treat for doing something good, you should praise them. Let them know that what they did was good. Yorkies love to be praised. This is very effective when trying to house train Yorkies.

4. Punish Bad Behavior. Whenever your Yorkie does something bad, be sure to punish them. You can do this by spanking them. Don’t hit your dog hard, though. A soft tap will do. This will let your Yorkie know that bad behavior won’t be tolerated in your house.
