Should I Train For BUD/S Wearing Weights?

For example, when they train in the ocean, do they wear body weights for the entire session? (Like 40 pounds?)

Keep in mind that any requirements you run across are minimum requirements. You’re expected to exceed them. I think the only way to prepare for BUD/S… if there is a way… is to work beyond your limits. That’s what they’re going to do when you get to Coronado.

So, in answer to your question, if the requirements become easy, add weights. Shorten the rest periods until you can just leave them out. One of the reasons all-star athletes don’t always do well during BUD/S is that they’re used to doing their thing and then taking a day or so off to get ready for the next game/meet/event. In most of SEAL training there’s seldom a recuperation period.
