Why does my cat like to roll around in the dirt when he goes outside?

Every time I let my cat out he runs toward this patch of dirt in our yard and starts rolling around in it…. He also rolls around on our walk way.

Cats have several sent glands all over there bodies. Rolling around is a good way for cats to mark there territory, that’s also a major reason why cat’s like to rub up against humans. Just be glad this is how he decided to mark territory rather then spraying.
