Yard Signs Placement and Scheme 101
Location is Key
When it comes to lawn signs, your location is very important. If you are advertising your company or business, putting out a sign that is far away from civilization may not be a good idea. What you need to do is to make sure that your signs are strategically positioned. Place your yard sign in an area that has high traffic. However, if you are selling your home, you naturally want to place the sign that your home is for sale right in your lawn, even if you live in an area where there isn’t very much traffic.
Follow Local Regulations
In order to make the most out of your lawn signs, be sure to ask your HOA or check the regulations regarding rules on putting out yard signs. Some HOA associations have particular specifications on how big or small your signs should be or whether you can even have signs posted. So that you won’t have any problems with the law, it would be best to know these things first before having a sign made. This is particularly true if you are using the sign as a political campaign material.
Be More Creative
In order to attract attention, your sign should be creative and interesting. A sign with a black and white hue may be boring to the public. Add some color and pizzazz! Give it some personality! Just don’t go overboard J
Pay Attention to Your Font and Color Scheme
In an attempt to be more interesting some people go overboard in designing their yard signs. They use cursive and highly ornate texts and too many colors. If you want people to appreciate and understand what your sign says, choose simple fonts and good color schemes. Orange and green might stand out (boy would it!), but the color scheme is going to be an eye sore. However, orange and black would stand out just as well and the colors wouldn’t be obnoxious. Cursive can be hard to read so try to stick with a simple, bold text. White text on black stands out and is easy to read, but red text on a white background will really catch attention.
It Pays To Be Professional
Sign that are created by professionals are much more pleasant than the ones crudely made. You know the ones with black marker on cardboard? Cost effective, but not all that great to look at. Thus, if you want people to take you seriously, have a professional create your lawn signs for you. They have a better idea of what will and will not work and what colors can really make your message pop!
