Wooden Embellishment

I’m painting a wooden picture frame for someone and was wondering if i paint it and put the embellishments on?
it that i am going to put on it would the paint start coming off over time or will it stay on. I’m using acrylic paint by the way and have it already painted. Is there something i should coat it with before i put the embellishments on to keep the paint from fading away over time?
You should have sanded the frame and then given it a coat of gesso before painting it. If you did that, the paint will not crack off or peel. There would also be very little fading. If you didn’t do that, sand the coat you just put on, and do the gesso. Acrylic paint is a strong glue, so you can use the paint to hold on your embellishments. The small ones anyway.
The larger ones will need something along the lines of hot glue. If you are adding only a few embellishments keep the frame out of direct sunlight. When adding a lot, such as a bunch of sea shells, the paint almost won’t be seen, and won’t see much light, thus very little fading. Keeping most of your art or photos should not be exposed direct, or strong sun, either.
