What’s that yellow hose attached to undersides of planes?

I’ve noticed a collapsible, vacuum cleaner looking yellow hose attached to a wide variety of airliners when they are parked at the gate. It’s fairly big, I’d say about 10 – 12 inches in diameter. Sometimes, its rolled up until the plane parks. Anyone know what this is called and what it does?

There are several hoses hooked up to commercial aircraft so I will explain them as follows:

1. The 12-inch yellow hose you see is hooked up to a huffer cart (air conditioner) to provide cooling air on the ground so the aircraft does not have to run the APU to cool the aircraft and vital electronic parts saving fuel. Once the APU is started this hose is removed.

2. The 4-inch gray hose with a coil wrapped around it is a high-pressure hose used to provide an air source to start the engines if the APU is INOP. You won’t see it hooked up to often, as most APU’s work and the flight crew will only start it just before the electrical power cord is unplugged to save fuel in most cases not all.

3. The 1-inch garden hose attached to the rear of the aircraft is to refill the portable water tanks onboard. Southwest airlines drain and refill their water tanks everyday wish everyone else did the same.

4. The dark nasty 4-inch hose attached to the rear under side of the aircraft is to drain the blue water container (toilet) tank, which is attached to a truck to contain the sewage.

5. The 4-inch hose attached to the underside of the wing or side of the fuselage depending on the aircraft with a guy holding a rope in their hand is a fuel hose. The rope is a dead man switch used to shut off the fuel pump incase something goes wrong.
