Sheer drapes ect help !!!!!!!!?

i have a 112 inch window in the living room, i wanted to do that sheer panel with the loose drape thingy on top .
but is my window to wide to do that, i need all the help i can get with this window project i have going on, any and all links or suggestions are appriciated,
my colors i want to do are taupe sage or crimson

Your window isn’t too wide, you’re just going to have to be careful what type of scarf (loose drape thingy) to put on top.

First, you need to decide how you’re going to drape the scarf and how long you want it. You may have a little trouble finding one that long, but you can do it. Just be careful that the scarf gives you the drape you want.

If you’re not sure about how it’s going to look, just go to Walmart and pick up some of their fabric that’s a buck a yard and play with it. It’ll only cost you about eight or ten dollars for plenty of fabric to experiment with

Because of the width of the window, you’re going to have to put in a center support in the rod, so you can just attach the scarf there with a couple of pins to the center support.

If you can’t find a scarf that you like, just grab the amount of fabric you want (depends on how much fabric you want on either side of the window)at a fabric store and buy it there. If I were you, I would order silk from Dharma Trading Company. All you have to do is dye it and it’s really, really cheap! I’ve been ordering from them for years. Here’s the link to the silk that would work for you. You don’t need anything wider than 45 inches.

If you get something really sheer, don’t bother trying to hem the selvages, just let them go. You can hide them in the drape. The only thing you’ll need to hem are the ends.

Have fun! Oh, if you want to be really decadent, you can even buy silk that’s 103 inches wide for your panels! If you make two panels, that should be plenty. Geez. Sorry this is so long. If you have any questions, though, just e-mail me!
