White Royal

White Royal
The NYPD changed their uniforms from Light Blue to Dark Blue but why the vehicles from Royal Blue to White?

I heard the reason they changed the uniforms to a darker color was because it doesnt show dirt as much. But when why change the vehicles and fleet from Royal Blue to White which shows dirt more?

The reason why the NYPD changed the paint scheme on their cars is to save money.

It costs at least an extra $800-$1000 per car to paint it with that royal blue color with the extra words painted on. If you think about it, that is a lot of money the NYPD and the city of New York saves by having the cars painted white instead of that royal blue paint scheme. And even though the cars can look dirtier, they just need an extra washdown or two to look clean.

The Moody Blues Hall of Fame – Live From the Royal Albert Hall

With graying baby boomers becoming key underwriters of viewer-supported television, a staid Public Broadcasting System grudgingly acknowledged the existence of rock & roll in the 1990s. The Moody Blues, via their somewhat heavy-handed, 1993 concert video A Night at Red Rocks, were among the first Woodstock generation acts to end up in constant rotation during affiliate pledge drives. The band’…
