Chicago White Sox One Of The Oldest Teams
The Chicago White Sox are a baseball team located in Chicago, Illinois. They were constituted in the year1901. The White Sox are one of the two teams which are based in Chicago. During the last two decades, they won the world series in 1906 and 1917. The Chicago White Sox won the world series in 2005 when they played in Houston Astros and beat them in four games. The Chicago White Sox are commonly referred to as “The South Siders”.
The Chicago White Sox has been around for a number of years. As one would expect, the uniform worn by the players has changed quite a lot since the early days. The first uniform for the Chicago White Sox is still quite popular in the current day and age. The team was famously known for the Sox logo that it had in 1912. The letters compromising of the word “Sox” were known to be interconnected in a diagonal fashion. This logo changed in 1942 to a standard English font “Sox”.
The colors for the teams uniform changed in 1964. The home uniform colors changed from black to blue whereas the away uniform changed from gray to pale blue. The home uniform changed its colors once again in 1976 where it went from red back to navy blue.
Along with these major color changes to the uniform of the Chicago White Sox another change was made to the way in which the “SOX” logo was written. The new kit has a more modern looking “SOX” which is accompanied by the word Chicago that goes across the top. The Chicago White Sox were known to wear shorts for a temporary period of time after which they switched back to wearing trousers.
The team was taken over by new owners in the year 1981. The new owners of the Chicago White Sox; Eddie Einhorn and Jerry Reinsfdorf were known to announce a contest in which it allowed its fans to design the uniform for the team.
The new design that was revealed after this competition saw the Sox word in the center of the jersey. The word was found in the middle of a large blue stripe that had a slight trimming of red. This design was later again changed to the more up to date uniform that has the words “White Sox” across the front of the jersey in basic plain font.
Seeing as there have been a large number of uniform designs for the Chicago White Sox, many fans are known to have their personal favorites. As a result, there has been a high demand of being able to purchase all kit designs. All of the previous Chicago White Sox kits can be purchased directly from their official website.
