80 or 70s unknown cartoon Christmas special?
There’s this old cartoon Xmas special that I can’t remember. It’s about a guy who doesn’t know what he should put on his Xmas tree. He tries all kinds of things, but can’t think of anything. He looks out into the sky and sees a star, and realizes that this is what he must get. He, along with his pet dog, go into space in their rocketship to retrieve the star. They run into all kinds of characters, such as a robot who decides to join them. The three get into some trouble with some space pirates along the way too. It pretty much ends with them retrieving the star in a box, and when he opens the box in front of his tree, the star just flies straight back up into the night sky in spectacular fashion. The three of them are saddened, as their hard fought mission was seemingly for nothing. But the pet hands the guy a piece of cardboard. The guy then cuts out a star, and they all enjoy Christmas around their tree, with their new star ornament on top.
Does anyone know what this is?
