• Get help and get it quick; early intervention prevents the emotional damage from turning into innate in your child. It will not help your child to give him or her what other parents would interpret as space while not taking up the problem at all. Although inspired by beneficial intentions, this isn’t a wholesome way to deal with the trauma of sexual abuse. It’s better to deal with the matter in an upfront means, and in your child’s rate.
• Assist your child reintegrate back to school, back to his or her old circle of friends and peers. It’s normal for your child to feel like being deserted a little bit, but after some time has passed, it’s important to go back to normal routine so that your child can recover better. You can be protective of your child without encouraging him or her to be paralyzed with fear.
• Form pleasurable family memories together. Even while heading for treatment, you can make the experience more agreeable for your child by taking him or her for ice cream or a special lunch date after therapy sessions.
• It will also form a deeper bond between you and your child if you spend time with him or her especially during his or her therapy sessions.
• Move your child out of the danger zone; if the sexual prisoner has, because of some legal technicality, bought time out of jail, do everything to keep your child from being bared to him or her.
