How do I hang single-sided curtains / drapes?

I have a plaid style curtain set that has the pattern on one side. They are meant for a bay window that is 100″ in length. Do I hang them with the pattern facing the outside or the pattern facing the inside? The flip side is plain white.
My house is a cape that is white.

The plain side faces out. The printed side faces into the room.
