What are the problems that single-mothers face that?

single-fathers don’t?
I’m given the understanding that single-mothers have it harder than single-fathers owing to their gender. There are a million pages on the web standing as testimonials to the virtues of single-mothers.

I can’t speak for single mothers but as a single father with a daughter I can give you list of problems I have and it usually was at the hands of discrimination from women.

My daughter never had a sleepover in her elementary school years. They all stayed at the each others houses reguraly but when I tried to organize them they were all busy or couldn’t and one mother flat out told me she didn’t feel comfortable with her spending the night at a house with just a man and no woman.

The school would call her mother on issues before me and I am the custodial parent.

There are more support groups, programs, ect. geared towards single mothers.

As a father the act of getting custody is seen as a big victory. Many men receive nothing or very little in way of support. We are just happy to be with our kids.

There are many struggles as a single father and sadly a lot of them are the narrow minded thoughts of women themselves.

Single fathers are just not taken as serious and many people assume there must be an issue with the mother like drugs or something and not that I am just a parent who loves my daughter and want to do the best I can for her. When I told a woman once I was a single father, her first question was “did her mother pass-away?” It is quite sad the mentality of some.

@QuiteNewHere…How is any of those different from what a single father could go through?
