How to sew silky fabric to fleece to make a blanket?

I’ve never used silky or fleece fabrics before. I’m a fairly new sewer. I saw these great blankets made from plush and silky materials and wanted to duplicate it for my friends and family. I’ve made one blanket for my kids. I knew that the silky would be slippery and to use LOTS of pins. The blanket turned out GREAT, but now the seems are coming apart. How do you keep this from happening? I’ve bought lots of this fabric to make blankets and now I’m afraid to use it!

I also have no idea how you put these two together.

You could try laying the two together, right sides in, and sew 3/8″ around the perimeter, leaving about 6″ to turn the two inside out.

Slip stitch the opening by hand and then machine top stitch 1/2″ from the edges with about 3.0 stitch length.

Having the seam inside the top stitching may help it hold up.
