Diy Shower Enclosure Installation: Do It Today

Fitting a shower cubicle or shower enclosure may be easier than you imagine, even for the very first time. Once you’ve established that you have all the necessary equipment and suitable working space, follow the instructions provided and begin to install your shower tray & enclosure. It’s important to think of your shower tray and actual glazed enclosure as two individual units, both of which need to be sealed using silicone.

Firstly, using a spirit level, ensure your shower tray is sat evenly and set firmly in position, remembering to use those adjustable legs where needed. Once positioned and fixed in accordance with your instructions, take your mastic gun and seal the shower tray unit.

It’s then time to repeat the process by installing the actual cubicle. Once completed and your shower enclosure is square, straight and correctly positioned, seal it up as with the shower tray.

Now, the most common leakage point in an installation of this kind usually occurs where the tiles meet the enclosure, so it’s imperative that this join is sealed correctly. Sealing from the inside of the enclosure is an easy mistake to make and so often proves to be the case, so seal your units from the outside where tiles meet enclosure and you’ll be fine.

So, you’ve fitted and sealed your shower enclosure, as you did with the shower tray and together, you’ve sealed both at all points, from the outside, where tiles meet shower tray and cubicle… you’re done!
