Scrapbook Ribbon

My son and I are making a scrapbook for his father for Christmas, I am disabled and this is one of the only?

things we can do together as I am not very physical, and thankfully even though he is 8, he loves working with me on it and we actually interact. I was wondering, I would like to add some ribbon and embelleshment (sp?) to the front of the album, is the best way to do that with a glue gun?

Hi, I teach scrapbooking at a special school to children with disabilities. It has been wonderful watching them ‘blossom’ this year and really getting into scrapping….a great thing to do together with your son.

I add ribbon with a xyron machine (the little one). It turns anything into a sticker so the sticky is on the back of the ribbon. I always do two at once (being economical). You can save the spare for later. Xyron’s are about $15 for X shaped machine and $7 for refills here in Australia.

I’ve also used thin double sided tape…place the tape on the page first then the ribbon on top…much easier than the other way round…learned that way by experience!

You could also use brads to attach ribbon…stab a hole with a large safety pin to help brad go thru…also looks decorative.

Or…stab a hole either side of ribbon and tie embroidery thread thru tying knot at front for a rustic look….or stitch a button on top of ribbon and thru paper.
