I got a massive stain on my satin dress for nail polish remover. what can i do to get the colour back?

It’s not even my dress, and i need to fix it real quick. Do you think Black clothing dye will work? i took ti to the dry cleaner and they said they cant do anything about it… The stain has made it all shiny and slighty greyish around the edges. I am going to get a grilling if i don’t get to fix this. please help!

It not like a food or wine stain. You’ve removed dye from the fabric. The acetone in nail polish remover has a similar effect to bleach when applied to fabrics.

If you use a dye that doesn’t match the dye lot the dress fabric was made with, there is really no point. You might as well scribble over the damage with a sharpie. It will have the same effect.

Next time, take off the dress and wear a robe or house clothes. Wait til your nails and hair are dry to put it on.
