Rooster Hackle

How to break up a c0ckfight?
K, well I let my 2 roosters outside. Montgomery (who is a 5-month old Buff Orpington cockrel) outside and Fred (2 year old Silkie rooster) was in a chicken-wire fence with his hen and 2 chicks. So anyways, Fred got out to try to fend off Montgomery from his wife and girls. So then the hackle feathers on both birds went up and they started fighting. I ran over in a hurry to break it up. They werent fighting one-on-one, but close enough that Fred got pecked and there was a small amount of blood in his mouth. I broke it up by getting in between them and yelling at Montgomery, which scared him off enough. They weren’t violent like throwing themselves at the other bird. But anywho, if it happens again, how do I break it up?
The answer suggesting animal cruelty has been reported. You really need to keep them separated. But if they should get into it again, the safest thing is to throw a large towel or small blanket over them. That will stop the fight, then you can reach under and remove them, one at a time and take them to separate areas.
