Is A Fedora Hat Part Of A Zoot Suit?

For my solo for dance I’m dancing to Mr. Zoot Suit and I am not wearing a zoot suit because I would definitely overheat. I want to wear a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, black dress pants, purple suspenders (like in the song) and a yellow tie (also like in the song) I want to wear a fedora hat too. Would this be okay?

A fedora is appropriate, but not that one. The fedoras worn with zoot suits had wide brims. I did an eastern swing or Lindy (can’t recall which now) exhibition about a decade back with a zoot-style fedora from Baily, if I recall, and I can promise you’ll have the same heat problem as with the whole suit.
