How do you get a ribbon tied tight without an extra finger?

I’ve been wrapping quite a few christmas presents lately and I’ve noticed that without someone there to press down on the middle of the ribbon while I tie it, it ends up being loose. How can I get it tight without having to have someones finger every time?

it’s tricky but you can do it. Use your index finger while holding the ribbon with your thumb and middle finger. I hope I’ve explained right I’m a visual person so it’s tough for me to explain it, I would rather show you how to do it. That’s how I do it all the time when I don’t have the extra person here to help me. And I love to wrap presents and put ribbons and hand-made bows on them. The packages look beautiful under our tree all deck out like that.
