How do you place your eye-pin into resin jewelry as it sets?

When you pour your clear resin into the mold how do you put the eyepin in so it sticks out the top in a nice way? or should i be fastening a backing or drilling a hole when it is set?

You can do it either way, for if you place it in as it sets you’ll want to pour in a half layer, wait for it to gel, lay your eyepin in place (perhaps supported outside), then pour another layer and cure. That assumes though that the “top” of the pice will be the part that is open to the air (in the mold) and that isn’t usually the case.
