Why do I have a purple and white exclamation point as an avatar?

I hid my profile because I am sick of all the 100s of connection requests in a day. So now I have an avatar that is a white exclamation point on a purple background. What’s the deal?

It seems yahoo is changing the smiley faces with different color avatars with the exclamation mark on them.
It must be something new yahoo has decided we needed and has gone ahead making changes but didn’t let the users know.
It could be causing the other glitches all related to the pulse profile, there is random changing of users names – Avatars disappearing – Question Marks replacing Profile users names – Question Marks replacing users names.
There could be more show up.
Until an official notice is posted we can only wonder and guess what’s up.
