Attaching fake leaves to my daughter’s fall princess costume.?

I am covering a top with leaves and adding ribbon around her neck to make it a halter. I already made her bottom piece. A tutu skirt in fall colors. How would I attach the leaves to make the dress re-wearable and able to put it in the washing machine. I am thinking tacking it with thread, but I am unsure of the best way. Any suggestions welcome!

i did that last year aswell. i attached fake leaves to a dress.
i recommend sewing them on but i wouldnt machine wash the clothes with the leaves on or itll be ruined, sew them on after washing them.

so if you loosely tack them on then you can easily take the leaves off again and re wear the clothes. it WORKS,
