How can I wash a Teddy bear?

I have a white Teddy bear with a red ribbon sewn to his neck and made with polyester fiber and it has gotten very dirty. To a point where it’s almost gray now. I was wondering how I could wash it.
I know a washing machine is out because I tried hand-washing it and I had gotten to close to the ribbon and a part of it’s fur turned pink. I have thought of taking it off but it’s mouth a nose are sewn with a red string. So the problem is still there.
After hand washing it it still was dirty. I don’t know what to do to clean it up without ruining it.

Take that cute little Teddy bear to the Dry Cleaners! If that doesnt work then you might wanna take the ribbon off so there will be less red running onto the teddy bear. (also make sure you wash the ribbon too, but separately so you can get some of the dye out of it, if that fails you can buy more ribbon) Basically you have to decide do you want it clean with a possibility of the thread running or can you live with it being dirty.
