What is the difference between color glaze and hair dye?

I recently saw that color glaze can be a good option for brunettes. I have plum-mahogany (http://www.cartermagee.co.uk/img/wood-flooring-products/morrells-wood-flooring-stains.jpg), curly hair and I’m not interested in changing the color, just enhancing it. What would a color glaze do? Are there any brands that are especially good? Does it cause damage?

also, if my hair is brown with natural red highlights, do I use a red colorglaze?

The difference between a color glaze .. is that it is only a semi permanant liquid, and it will wash out of your hair, a hair color is also a semi permanant too (cause the color doesnt last forever) but it wont wash out it will just fade over time.

As for color glaze i would have to say marc anthony has a couple good products as well as loreal and biolage. As for damage im not to sure how harmful a hair glaze is… i dont think it could do anything crusial though… probably just cause the hair to have a more “rough feeling” if u know what i mean..
