Plastic Bottle

What happens when I put a plant in a plastic bottle out in the sun?
What would happen if I put a plant in a plastic bottle out by a heat source?
Would the air inside the bottle be warmer than the temperature out of the bottle?
How would it affect it’s growth?
It doesn’t matter what you answer, as long as you answer one.
If you put the plant in the direct summer sunlight you will have created a mini oven and the plant would quickly die. The air inside the bottle definitely will be hotter and more humid than outside. If you will cut the top off the bottle and put drainage holes in the bottom you can certainly use it as a planter but this is because there is more air circulating around the plant than in a narrow necked bottle. Or, as the other poster suggested, a plastic bottle with the bottom cut off makes an excellent mini-green house in cool weather.
