Pink Pom

Name of a dark pink/red flowering plant?

I know this is quite abstract, but I just can’t find out the name of this plant I saw before… The plant itself is rather short, around 2 ft or so. Its flowers are in a globe shape, the diameter is like or perhaps smaller than that of a quarter – like a little pom pom. They have this dark pink/red color with some yellow in the middle. The multilayer petals have a wax paper-like texture and the color stays after the flower dries so some people use it for decoration. Thanks in advance!
I believe it’s not strawflower, which seems larger than the one I’m looking for. Also, the flowers don’t bloom like that, the petals stay rather close to the center. Thank you for the suggestion though.
