FarmVille Animals

There are two main kinds of animals in farmville: Livestock which can be purchased at the Market for coins or Farmville cash, and Lost Animals which will show up on your farm from time to time.  One wonderful thing about animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones.  Once an animal is ready to be harvested, it will patiently wait for you to log in again and harvest it.  They’re a trouble-free, effortless to handle means of getting money and enjoying some diversity on your farm.

Livestock

The livestock you can currently acquire at the Market are rather limited.  The livestock which you can get at the Market are dairy cows, white (regular) sheep and pigs.  New animals come out for a selected time on special events and holidays. Green cows now namedAlien Cow (once called as BOV1NE-09) showed in the Market for 2400 coins.  Green cows give a crop called “milktonium” which sells for 18 coins. The “Baby Turkey” was released during the American Thanksgiving. It changes into a grown Turkey when harvested for the first time.  The feathers which can be harvested every 2 days from grown-up Turkey can be put up for sale at 80 coins per harvest.  You can accept more interesting livestock as free gifts from your friends, although the old standbys are available there too.

Be aware that the harvest times are not the same for each animal.  You can harvest several animals every day whilst other animals require two, three or as many as 4 days.

Lost Animals

You need to watch your friends’ status updates to see if they have put up for adoption any “lost animals”.  Once in a while, lost animals will show up on your farm and request your help.   The release of Wild Turkey is an example. To celebrate American Thanksgiving, the creators of Farmville released it as a new “lost animal”.

She will appear on your farm with the following caption:

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..

Other lost animals include:

*Ugly Duckling (becomes a swan)

*Brown Cow (produces chocolate milk)

*Pink Cow (produces strawberry milk )

*Black Cat (produces yarn)

*Turtle (makes eggs)

*Black Sheep (makes chocolate wool )

*Regular cows also wander but they are available through the Market and as free gifts

You will not be able to adopt these lost animals.  You can only help them by putting them up for adoption.  If you have more than one Facebook account, this is the perfect moment to utilize it!

Log out from your account and afterwards place your lost animal up for adoption.  Log in on your other account and immediately get the animal before someone else does!   Regularly check your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animal.

If you’re collecting plenty of cows and/or chickens, consider buying a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop.

Each building stores 20 cows or chickens and offers a convenient means to keep them, and harvesting them all at once.
