Pearl Corsage

My date for prom is wearing Olive Green. suggestions?

My date for prom is wearing Olive green. Because I was unsure that i could exactly match that shade of olive green, my friend suggested a complement color which would be a black blazer, black slacks, black shoes, an ivory shirt, a creamish colored vest and tie (pearl cuff links and a olive green and cream corsage). I decided to choose it, however, I have only about 3 days to change it. I was wondering what you people think? Should i stick with it? Should i try another color?

In my opinion, anything but a pocketless white shirt would be formally incorrect for such a festive event. I would dress traditionally (i.e. dark grey suit, white shirt, silk tie) and perhaps coordinate the tie with her gown (If you really, really *have to*: A man is not an accessory or part of the woman’s outfit!) Good luck!

PS: I assumed that your prom is not a black tie event, in which case the dress code would be self-explanatory!
