Can a Senegal parrot free fly outside?

I have seen videos of Sun conures and African greys free flying OUTSIDE, but i am interested in getting a Senegal parrot at some point in the far away future (all ready have many birds) and would like to let it freely fly outside. Please no ones personal opinions, I would just like to know if a Senegal parrot CAN or CAN NOT fly outside without a flight suit like a sun conure or an African grey.

It can fly free outside only if you do not mind not getting it back. Even for ones you have seen so-called free-flying on some video, do a follow-up w the owner—-how often does it fly, was it just that one time? Have they lost it yet? How did they train it? Videos can be deceiving. Even the act of suddenly flying to a bird who’s never done any flying except in it’s owners house can frighten the bird so much that it keeps flying til it’s out of it’s neighborhood & hopelessly unable to be recaptured.

This answer is my opinion and is based on many years of experience being asked to help find or try to coax other peoples pet birds fr backyard trees. They include large macaws down to budgies w many sized parrots in between. It very seldom works out well. I always hear the same thing—’well I thought his wings were clipped’ or ‘my grandma’s parrot used to fly around on the farm but always came to the widow at night’ or ‘the previous owners said they took it outside w them’ etc, etc, etc ad nauseam.

If you have no experience as a professional bird trainer who trains birds to free fly for a living I would suggest you enjoy your bird in a safe & secure manner at all times. Do you know how often birds that are allowed free flight outside don’t come back & their owners never know what happened to them? Please do allot more research on owning a pet bird. I’m just say’n.
