Red Pad on Rock Band drums is bad?

it works if i hit it hard or soft fine, but when i have rolls, it’ll just stop responding. (i’ve also ruled out it potentially being my fault. I’m really good with timing, and i’m positive i don’t miss them). If there’s a roll on any other pad, i’ll be fine, but when it’s on the red, i miss large chunks of notes. Is there anything that can be done to the pads to make them work better, or do i just have to tough it out until rockband 2?

the transmitter is damaged. unfortunately, you need to get a whole new drum set.
