Many people who love archery would like to create their own bow and arrow. In order for us to make one, we also need a little planning. To make a plan is the primary thing to consider if we want to become successful. The materials needed in making a bow and arrow include the cloth tape, string, arrow heads, glue gun, fins, small hand saw, string, shaft, a piece of wood and a sandpaper.  The best that we can also do is to check on the bow and arrow that they sell outside. Below are some of the instructions that we can follow.

1. Choose a flexible type of wood. The wood type that are often used include the bamboo, mulberry, lemon tree, hickory, black locusts, teak, and oak. Green or young wood is better for many people when it comes to making a bow. Check how the bow actually looked like, go to a local archery store. One can also check the weight or evern the texture of the bow.

2. Now that we have an idea about how to make the bow, then we can use the information that we saw from the local store. Choose a wood that has a perfect bend. Since almost any type of wood bends on their own way when forced, we need to choose the one that has a perfect bend. With the use of the hand saw, one can simply cut the wood.

3. It is the center of the bow which makes them strong, make sure you take that into consideration. Use a carving tool or a knife to shave or scrap off unwanted parts on both ends. Make sure to make the center a strong one and both ends to be flexible. After scrapping the unwanted wood on both ends, use the sandpaper to refine the texture.

4. Start to prepare the notches after making the bow. Make sure to give allowance on the measurement of the notch and not exactly on the length of the bow. It will be used on both ends of the bow. The bow string is made from different materials such as nylon, sinew or fishing line, and hemp cord.

5. It is very easy to make an arrow compared to the bow, we can just attached the fins, the tip, and all other things on the piece of wood and make sure that they are forming a straight line. Make sure that they do not get loose easily. We can choose from different arrow shafts like the cedar arrow shafts that are available almost anywhere today.

To make a bow can be extremely easy, we just have to prepare a plan to get all the things done properly. We can also make a sketch on the design that we want before we start to do the job.
