Mighty Bright

Mighty Bright
Do you like my simple poem?

I had to write this for my Writing class (9th grade). Try to pay attention to the end:

“Saints”

Hold your heads way up high,
Let them gaze into the sky;
Teach your cleansing ways to all,
Preach your rightfulness in my ears.
Touch the glowing halo
That floats above your mighty head,
The one as bright as a firefly.
Feel its exquisite power,
Let it fill you with sinless thoughts.
Talk down to those below you.
Use articulate words
To push them around right and left.
Talk bad to the deceivers,
Attempt to vanish their mistakes.
Scold them for their boiling sins,
And smile because you’re the saint.
Make sinners a nonentity,
Annihilate your arrival.
You love to be the almighty saints,
But let me sing into your ears,
Let me remind you in the sky:
Without sinners, there cannot be saints.

I love it. I think it can be a hymn to youths and their values.
