Metres Organza

Metres Organza
if I offered you 1 metre of pink silk, 1/2 metre of plum organza and 3 metres of black raw silk?

what would u make that would incorporate all 3 . most creative answer gets 10 points :)

Did you mean to use up as much material as possible or just a hint will be fine?
Here is what I would do if maximum material has to be used.
1.Create a floor length formal gown with very simple bodice and straps from the black raw silk. Raw silk will look sturdy and hold the flow. You could choose the style that would use as much material as possible (even if you had 5 meters) in the skirt.
2. Organza is stiff and not long enough(however has very good width on the bolt) . I would have create a hanging scarf – various possibilities. It could hang from one shoulder stitched or attached with a brooch; just loose hanging both the ends in the back hugging tightly to the front neck like a choker; If you don’t find the material sufficient for the scarf the way you would like, you could combine some pink silk, or black raw silk or both to achieve the length including some edgings.
3. I would create two broad strips starting at waist(smaller and broadening as it approaches the floor) to the edge of the gown, allowing calf-high or knee-high slit at the seams between two colors (black and pink). You also have an alternative to create a cummerbund or a sash.
4. You could create small pipings from the left over or cuttings to stitch on the seams to highlight the contrast colors.

5. My personal choice for pink silk is different. Create a 3″-5″ wide border for the edge. But instead of it being a uniform straight strip, I would have nice wave style extending to 6″-8″ in wave pattern – rendering a look of applique spaced out every few feet apart. In addiiton, I would pick up about a dozen of pink and plum colored very small sequins and randomly and sparsely apply to black skirt.
Good luck with the designing.
