room designing?? this a good idea??

ok i was thinking of painting ALL my walls metallic silver and puting a black ribbon around my room like with clear rhinestones on the ribbon. the problem is i NEED an accent wall but i dont want it to be that different from the rest.. like put webbing on it like in a diff color tho…. o ya here is my comforter:http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5694033

Instead of doing solid silver on all the walls … I would do a very light gray … then use a sponging technique with the silver all over the walls.

I think you had a GREAT idea about the ribbon. But…instead of the ribbon (that would probably fall off)… just do some black paint around the room….then use the flat sided gem stones and hot glue them to the wall. When/if you ever decide to change the wall color… the gems will pop off pretty easy with a putty knife.

Then ….find a wooden lamp… spray paint it silver…. and hot glue some gems on the pole of the lamp.

Also… go to wal-mart and look at the jeweled decorative trim used to put on the edges of pillows and craft items…. this stuff will be in the craft department. You could use this on the edges of lamps… sew it onto the edge of a nice throw to lay on your bed…. put it on some decorative pillows to put on your bed … for the edging of scarves that you put on dressers….or hot glue it on the edge of a light fixture that you have on your ceiling. The ideas are limitless.

Also…. find a wooden ‘box’ to put at the foot of your bed….buy some foam and cover it with fabric to make a bench to sit on. Trim the foam pad with the jeweled decorative trim from wal-mart.

Get a pair of very high heels that you think are very cute… glue a few ‘gems’ on them and leave them in the corner of the room as decoration. Sit them next to a coat rack with beautiful hat that has jewels on it…. and hang a light pink feather boa on the coat rack. Hang a matching purse with it to finish the look.

A chunky silver mirror with some gems on it would look great too. (Since you would be putting so many jewels in the room… buy the smaller ones… and just use some here and there so it doesn’t end up looking so ‘cartoony’.)
