Magnet Magnetic

Magnet Magnetic
what happens when an ELECTRO-MAGNETIC field is passed through a magnet?

when electricity is passed through a magnet , it creates electro-magnetic field [yep i do know that]. But ive been wondering , if earth is called a magnet and Sun passes it electro magnetic waves [ UV rays] , what exactly happens ? and so ,that brings to this one– what happens wen an already created electro-magnetic field is passed through a magnet? My physcial science teacher is a MORON!!

Electricity passing through anything creates a magnetic field. It’s difficult for me to explain in words the answer to your question. Try this exercise:

-Lay out a white sheet of copy paper on a thin table or preferably a cardboard box.

-Sprinkle metal shavings or even some dirt onto the paper.

-Hold a magnet stationary underneath the box (Sun) and then pass another magnet around the first one (Earth). Flip the polarity of one and see how it changes.

This should give you a practical idea how magnetic waves and to an extent other forms of waves react to outside interferences.

And give your science teacher a little bit of credit. He may not be an awesome teacher, but I’m almost certain he’s no moron to the physical science world.
