How to trade pokemons on VBA between Leaf Green and Ruby? I basically want a national dex?

I have 2 roms ruby and leaf green.Can I trade pokemons between them. I read somewhere that you can only get a national dex by trading.

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET A NATIONAL DEX IN RUBY (I would not mind a gameshark code).
