Where can I buy dressmaking fabric in west London?

I am looking for a good store that sells a variety of afforable fabrics for dressmaking, and other dressmaking/sewing materials – haberdashery, patterns, accessories etc. Similar to Lincraft or Spotlight in Australia.
Am looking anywhere in London, but preferably in the west.
Not online stores though. I would like to be able to touch the fabric before I buy.
I am looking to sew my own clothes/bags etc. I don’t want to buy huge quantities. Just enough for personal use.

There are lots of fabric shops as there is the London School of Fashion quite close to Oxford Street and Instituto Marangoni another fashion school so students are always buying cheap and varied fabrics. I have spent a whole day in just 3 stores!!!
Go to the nearest information centre and get them to give you a list of addresses and phone no.s to check opening times etc. Alternatively look in yellow pages for fabrics shops, needlework and sewings supplies etc. They will list loads. Have fun!
