How to make a snare drum sound higher/sharper in pitch?

Hello,I just bought a set of entry level drum set..because i believe by just changing the heads n cymbals it would sound good too..XD.But i recently bought the coated emperor over clear ambassador heads for my snare drum(14 x 5.5),i replaced the plastic strap with some ribbon(not sure what type it is,but it feels like satin),which sounded really high in pitch n sharp,plus a lil ring which i love it.now,i bought the grosgrain ribbon n replaced the ‘satin ribbon’(since it looks like the satin ribbon snapped at the side),the drum sounded much lower than it was be4!i didn’t tighten the heads,just replaced the ribbon,but no matter how tight i try to fix the snare wire,it sounded low,not to say bad,but i just dont like it.what shd i do?btw,the batter is tuned to the highest tension while the reso is mid-tension,the 4 lugs at the reso side is loosened too.HELP…
