I have a strapless long gold silk gown with a black velvet skirt that wraps around?

the waist of the empire waist with a slight train in back and a front slit of gold tulle netting. the top is gold sweet heart neckline. I love the antique look of the dress I like vintage and I am the mother of the groom. the bridesmaids are in short navy and the mob is in slate grey long. The wedding is the first of May Can I wear the velvet with the silk and still look classy and good what do you think. thanks
