Gold Green

Can I get any degree for the Army’s Green to Gold Program?
Basically I’m planning on getting my Associates in Fine Arts, going to be enlisted of course. But with the Green to Gold Program, does it matter what type of Bachelor’s Degree I get? I was planning on getting a degree in animation.
I was told by my recruiters that I COULD get any degree that I wanted, but I’d like to double check on that.
The Army doesn’t really care what your degree is in when you’re applying for OCS, just so long as it’s a BA or BS from an accredited college or university.
Most colleges don’t have counter insurgency operations as an available major anyway, so pretty much nobody’s degree ends up being relevant, unless you qualify for a direct commission (doctor, lawyer, chaplain, etc.). Even ROTC cadets don’t actually major in Military Science – they pick whatever major interests them, and then take a couple MS courses each semester.
Of course – if you actually plan on making a real career out of it (>20 yrs), I’d go for something that would look better for a promotion board. Political Science, History, a foreign language, etc.
But as far as just getting accepted for OCS, your GPA will be significantly more important than your major.
