Getting Started With Rubber Stamping For Arts And Crafts

Rubber stamped gift bag, embossed gift boxes, rubber stamped wrapping paper, promise card and paper chain are some of the many arts and crafts projects that you can do with rubber stamping.  There is an assortment of stamps, inks, embossing powders, embellishments, charming accessories and trinkets that you can use to create beautiful, personalized arts and crafts. 

Rubber stamping is an interesting hobby especially if you are creative, resourceful and patient.  But like any novice to the craft, when presented with various rubber stamping equipment and supplies, things can start to get a bit overwhelming.  But really, you only need to gather the basics to get started with rubber stamping for arts and crafts.     

When purchasing for your materials, don’t act on impulse picking everything you see that fascinates you.  There is no need to buy everything all at once. Just a few key supplies and some multi-purpose rubber stamps will give you a wealth of potential for creative fun. Vellum, for instance, is a special type of paper however it may not ideal for a first project – at least, not yet.  Anyhow, it will dawn on you that putting everything in the cart can saddle on your budget.

•    Rubber Stamped Wrapping Paper

This is a fairly quick and easy rubber stamping project involving only a nice, plain wrapping paper and some dyes or pigment inks.  This project appears rather simple but when done with more personalized touches, it can become a special work of art.   Rubber stamped wrapping paper can complement greeting cards and other gift items.  You can create rubber stamped wrapping paper in different colors and designs to match the gift or the theme of the occasion. Now think of a ready supply of great wrapping paper for all your occasions.

•    Rubber Stamped Paper Chains

If you want to enliven the atmosphere of your party – birthdays, weddings, homecomings, and seasonal festivities such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year, or simply you want to create a theme for your regular weekend party at home, make some rubber stamped paper chains. Strips of paper are joined to form links and eventually a long chain enough to cover the areas you need swathe over with colors.  You can stamp the paper first before cut them into the strips or you can choose to cut the strips first before stamping. Make some creative geometric patterns or random patterns of swirls to create a fancy and festive effect for your paper chains. 

•    Rubber Stamped Greeting Cards and Thank You Cards

On special occasions, nothing feels exceptionally special than receiving hand-made greetings cards, or personalized party invites.  They make for more precious mementos. Make some unique rubber stamped greeting cards for your loved ones, close friends and colleagues and spare yourself of the shopping hassles and spending too much on ready greeting cards which come in boring, standard designs.  For a more hand-made feel, mothers can actually prod their kids to create spontaneous rubber stamped designs.

Reserve a specific wall portion of your children’s room for painting and rubber stamping. Allow them to play with colors and random sketches to encourage their ingenuity.  This can be a good way to add some flushes of color and individuality to a rather drab room.
