How do you get rid of the smell from alphabet foam mat?

I just bought it for my baby but its rubber smell so strong like chemical and oil, I wash them seperate with hot soapy water but it doesn’t help, i don’t wanna use bleach because it could harm my baby . Do you have any tips?

Maybe you could let it soak in hot water with something that smells good in the water. Maybe something along the citrus side. Ever looked at tire wax? It’s normally oily and has a good citrus smell. So maybe something along the same lines might work for your play mat.
