Will a shoelace get hard when I burn it?

I’m making a braclet, and was wondering if a fiber type lace or a shoelace will get hard when it is burned. Thank you for your time.

I believe you may be referring to the “nylon’ type of shoe lace that melts then hardens when it cools.

Any lace made with organic materials, such as cotton would just burn.
