Fabric Sew

Why is there thread hanging from both sides of the fabric when I sew from my sewing machine.?

When I am finished sewing, there is thread hanging from the top of the fabric and underneath the fabric. Also, when I start sewing and want to start a new seam, I notice that when I am finished there are multiple strands of thread coming from the bobbin area. Please help.

Remove the threads and restring it to make sure it is threaded properly.
