How fast do Emerald Green Arborvitae grow?

I want to plant some Emerald Green Arborvitae around my yard for screening. I would like to buy some that are 7-8ft tall for almost instant privacy, but they cost $129.00 each. The 5-6ft ones cost $49.00, so obviously that’s the more affordable route. How quickly will the 5-6 ft ones grow to 7-8ft? If it’s going to take 2 or more years to grow two feet then I’ll bite the bullet and buy the 7-8ft ones.

You should shop around, because these are more expensive than any that I have seen. You also might consider waiting until later in the season when they probably will get cheaper
