How Private School Sports Facilities Are Superior to State Schools

There are arguments both for and against sending your children to private school, not least because of the difference in standard of facilities. It would not be possible to give a generalised hypothesis on the different types of schools, but instead it is better to examine them in different areas to gleam insight into their offerings. Let’s take a brief look at the most common physical recreation facilities in schools.

Playing fields. The playing fields in private schools are often vastly superior in size to state schools facilities. Whereas most state schools have fields that are used for a number of different sports, private schools such as Marlborough college have dedicated fields for different sports. This means that sports areas do not have to be adjusted for different sports and this saves a lot of time all round

Swimming Pool. The expense that swimming pools generate is quite frankly incredible. Many state schools that once had pools have had to close them due there huge running costs, however most private schools like Radley college still have theirs. Not only is it a great facility to have to teach pupils how to swim and life save but it is also a very attractive feature to parents

Equipment. Purchasing sport equipment to be used in schools is a never ending process as they constantly need updating and damaged or lost items need replacing. Sports gear such as balls, rackets and pads are items that need to be available to all students and so the cost of these often adds up quite quickly.  The advantage that private schools have is not only do schools fees go towards paying for top equipment like at Lancing College but also lots of students like to use their own equipment that has been brought for them at home and so this saves the school a lot of money.
