Review: Farmville Wizard

Summary: It is better to ask farming tips from Gandalf.

The guide suffers from a lot of cosmetic errors as well as some extremely basic problems.  The guide contains just the same overused outdated clues which you can discover yourself with a computer and an IQ of just 95. It contains no earth-shattering, amazing secrets of any kind. It does have a table which helps you discover which particular Farmville crops give you the most yield, but that’s just about it.

The Shortcomings
The first section of this strategy guide is a totally useless (though a little bit fascinating) presentation of an idea about the reasons why people play Farmville. According to the writer, Farmville fans play the game since they miss the simplicity of dwelling on a farm. Not only is this very unpleasing, it takes up 2.5 pages of a guide which is only 19 pages long, less 3 pages for the cover and table of contents, less one more page for the back cover. . .wait a second! Instead of receiving the 19 pages you originally paid for you’re only buying 12.5 pages of information! The information given in the other 12.5 pages are generally hideously obvious that someone who’s never played the game could have come up with. Farmville Wizard may be useful to someone who does not understand the general concept of the game. It is evident that the guide has been created by someone who does not speak English as first language. The sentences are vague and there are plenty of grammatical errors. Occasionally you have to pause to decipher what they mean. The author uses catchy phrases such as “shave off lots of money” and “Let me now unleash to you”.  Another example is the frequent use of the word “plantation” as a verb. Do not buy Farmville Wizard if these troubles you. You’d want to gouge your eyes out or call your middle school English teacher to thank her from saving you from making similar mistakes. This guide is certainly imprecise. It gives info such as “Your crops will rot if you don’t harvest them in time.” So…What is “in time”. You will receive coins for mastery. . .how many? This guide also gives outdated data.

Conclusion
Farm Wizard does not perform well weighed against other Farmville strategy guides. If truth be told, Farmville Wizard scarcely performs at all.
