Dome Lens

sigma 10-22mm wide angle lens?
i have a canon eos 50d and would like a wide angle lens (10-22mm) the canon lens is too expensive, and i read that the sigma one couldnt take any filters as it was sort of a domed shape. but i have seen this one http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/dclenses/10-20mmEX.htm which appears to be able to take filters. can it. and if anyone uses this lens, what is it like?
If you look further down the ad copy, you will see this.
Filter Size 77mm
As you can see, it does take filters.
I can see why spending only £550 on a generic lens vs £990 for the real deal might be compelling, but check with Canon and see if here are any issues using that Sigma lens. In the past there have been problems especially when new firmware is released for Canon dSLR cameras.
I just looked on UK Amazon and the Canon EF-S 10-22 mm lens is selling for £583.99. There is no mention if VAT is included however
