Dog Paw

We wrapped our dog’s paw too tightly and now his paw is swollen. How do get the swelling to go down?

My dog ripped his dew claw off yesterday. To stop the bleeding we wrapped his paw in gauze. We wrapped it too tightly. Now his paw is swollen and we do not know how to get it to go down. Any suggestions? Would he possibly have to have it amputated?

You probably should loosen the wrap. Also, keep the area clean to prevent infection. If you believe the area is infected, seek veterinary help.
